Sewing Jar

I got this glass sweetie jar in my local Garden Centre in the sale and thought it would make a perfect storage jar for all my sewing goodies ! I love it and it's nice and easy to see what's in there !

These ribbons I got from TK Maxx are in there and are just so gorgeous! I've used them for a few projects already including my Easter tags.

Pin Cushion

OK, so excuse me for getting slightly excited here, but wahooooo, I actually managed to use a sewing machine and make something real ! OK it's only a little pin cushion but I am so proud and happy with it ! It was super easy, I just cut two pieces the same size, put them back to back and used a simple stitch all the way around - leaving a 1 inch gap ! Used some scissors to flip it inside out, stuffed it with some wadding and hand sewed up the 1 inch gap ! Viola ! Oooh and yes sorry to finish it all off I sewed the cute little heart buttons on, right through the whole thing, pulling the thread tight to make them 'dip' in the middle.

What makes this even more exciting is the sewing maching used to belong to my 92 year old Grandma, so it's a great pleasure to have this as a handmidown, and I was glad to do her proud ! :)

Here is it...

Chocolatey Yumminess Slab

There is no other word for this ! It's so easy to do, a lot of fun and boy is it delicious !!

Firstly you need 2 or 3 different types of chocolate, I used milk, dark & white. And lots of toppings !!

Melt the base chocolate, which for me was the milk chocolate !

Then pour the melted chocolate in to your pan. With the white and dark chocolate, drizzle with a spoon in a kind of zig zag shape over the whole slab and using a toothpick, gently 'swirl' around to form the lovely shapes below:

Then go crazy !! Add all the toppings you desire ! I had smarties, marshmallow, raisins, jazzies, maltesers, sprinkles - you name it, throw it on there !!

Let the slab cool and then pop in the fridge to harden. I left mine overnight. Then in the morning enjoy the satisfaction of breaking the slab up in to chunks, or keep as one for an awesome present (just like the Hotel Chocolat ones). I wrapped the pieces in cellophane bags and gave them to friends and family ! They didn't last long though, but if you want them to, you will need to temper you chocolate, like this.

Enjoy xxx
