Rice Crispie Pops

There are hundreds of these little beauties on pinterest and I couldn't wait to try some.

They are SO easy !! So please try these if you are having a party or you just want a super scrummy treat and these would be perfect for make with children too !

I bought a rice crispie square (you could make your own), chocolate, sprinkles and lollypop sticks.

Cut the crispie square in to equal size pieces. These were mini ones, but you could do any size you like or use a cookie cutter to make hearts for example.

Push the stick in to the crispie cake - it goes in really easy and just sticks in place ! Much easier than cake pops !

Then dip in your tempered chocolate and sprinkle to your hearts content !!

Do let me know if you try these ! I've just eaten them all, so I should have just put the whole thing on one stick !! :)

Go on - try these this weekend !! Enjoy x

Rose Rings

I am in love with these rose cabochons.

You can get them in The Range or Hobbycraft or the have millions to choose from online at Etsy.

I have made a few different bits with these for the craft fair. The first are these gorgeous rings !  They are on silver plated adjustable ring findings and secured with super glue!

I hope you like and do go try them yourselves :)

Baileys Dream

So, if you read my post yesterday, you will know I am trying to eat healthily - but you will also notice from my blog that I have a slight sweet tooth. OK who am I kidding.... a very sweet tooth.

So I was on a quest to make this 'healthy eating' a little more luxurious and have a little treat every now and again. (3 nights in a row so far - oops)

But anyway, you get the idea !

SO, I was in Waitrose the other day and bought myself a tub of Marshmallow Fluff as I had been wanting to try some for ages and that night I thought about how I could incorporate it in a pudding.

I am not joking....you HAVE to try this ! It is probably one of the best things I have ever made !

It's super quick, SO easy and only about 120 calories !! (you can have more than I suggest if you please).

This is what you'll need:

So grab a lovely little dessert dish, spoon out your mashmallow fluff on the bottom then add a scoop of the frozen yogurt. (Which by the way tastes like luxurious Belgium chocolate ice cream!)

Then a squirt of the cream around the ice cream, pop the strawberry on the top, grate a little chocolate over the top and pour over the Baileys ! DELICIOUS !

It was sooo delicious it deserves another photo....

I really hope you try this and enjoy it as much and my family and I did ! x

Baby Boy Cake Pops

It was one of my best friends little boys Christenings on Sunday, so I thought I would make a little something for him... well, for the grown ups to enjoy!

I am a big fan of cake pops and stripy straws, so when Jemma from Iced Jems told me the straws work in place of the usual lolly sticks, I couldn't wait to try them !

I ordered the straws from her lovely shop online and they came the next day !

I got the other supplies from Hobbycraft and a little independent cake company in Lyme Regis - but you can get them online or any nice little cake decoration shop.

I decided to do a mixture of white and blue, so got both these colours in candy melts ! I made the cake pops using the fabulous Pop Bakery recipe and topped them off with sprinkles, little cute baby sugar toppers and some blue edible glitter !

I had to try one to make sure they tasted OK - obviously ! ;)

I used the clear bags from Hobbycraft and tied some pretty little blue bootie ribbon around them to close them up and they could then be taken home from the party.

There you have it... some cute little baby boy Christening Cake Pops ! I hope they inspire you to create something yourself !

Ooh and if you're a fan of cake pops and haven't yet - I suggest you try the paper straws, they are perfect to work with and look FAB !

If you have any questions about cake pops, just drop me a message below !

Enjoy & thanks for stopping by x

Motivate on a Monday

So, it's been a week since I started my health kick ...... I'm not gunna lie, it's been the longest week EVER !

BUT I have secretly really enjoyed it. It's been a challenge, it's not easy, but I can already tell it's worth it ! I managed to stick to my calories, even with a 16 hour work day one day and we managed to run for 15 minutes twice !

Annnnnd, drum roll please......I lost 3lbs !! Woo hoo !

I am SO chuffed ! That's quite a lot for me too, so it probably won't be as much in the coming weeks, but it's a great start and makes me want to continue for sure!

I have definitely found so far it's all about planning and finding new flavours and ideas and keeping motivated !

So, I thought I'd share 3 of things I've found to help me through the past week.

OK, so this might seem silly, but I got this gorgeous tin from Tesco the other day to keep my crackers fresh and I just smile every time I go to make them - it's so pretty ! ( I have 3 crackers at breaky with some organic peanut butter & some fruit). It's so the little things like this that make the difference!

I got this fabulous new book through the post that I saw Fearne Cotton had and I feel healthy just reading it ! OK, I know I have to actually follow it, but for this week, just reading it helped me think about what I am putting in to my body and to consider acid v. alkaline foods ! I'll keep you posted as I delve deeper !

And lastly, this super low cal but OH MY GOSH SO DELICIOUS pudding!
This is like heaven in a bowl. I will share the recipe with you tomorrow as you HAVE to try this. What I love about it is it's so super delicious, but only about 120 calories ! So you really can have your cake and eat it. (As a special treat of course)

Anyhoo, so here goes another week ! Good luck to anyone else who is trying to be healthy !

We can do it ! x

The Birthday Cake !

I knew as soon as I saw this cake on the lovely Iced Jems website I had to try it - and I knew my Mums birthday was the perfect excuse !

It is SO pretty looking and Jemma says it is easier than it looks so... I gave it a go !

Check out the full tutorial on the Iced Jems website here.

It was SOOO much fun to make ! You have to start with the carnations and they are quite fiddly to get the hang of but really effective once all done and put together !

The pink edible dust I had wasn't bright enough so I just dipped my paintbrush in the pink food colouring and glitter and brushed this on the outskirts of the petals.

And here it is...

You should definatly give it a go !! We just finished off the last piece and it was delicious !

Pressie Wrapping

OK, so you might see a regular item appearing in my Mums gifts - the brown tags - I love them !

But I wanted to share this as a little wrapping inspiration ! I love making that little bit of extra effort on wrapping presents, it makes them feel more special !

I used twine in place of ribbon this give it a nice rustic look and added one of my lovely washi tape pegs to hold the tag on !

Do share some of your favourite pressies wrapped please :)

Trinket Box

One of Mums pressies was a little hand decorated trinket box.

I got this one from Hobbycraft and it was just a little brown cardboard box. So I painted it and then lined the inside with some sticky back floral card I had.

The paper rose is from The Range and the brown tags were from Hobbycraft too. I just glued them in place. I then used my fab rubber letter stamps to do the 'MUM'.

This was really simple, but quite effective and I think it's so so pretty.

Handmade Bluebell Card

It was my Mums birthday last Friday so I thought I would share a few of her handmade gifts I gave her this year.

Starting with her birthday card, I had a couple of ideas but settled on this nice bluebell (her favourite flowers) sewn on to the card and a little lace ribbon bow.

I then added a little stamped gift tag with a small peg - this way she could always remove the tag and we could maybe frame the bluebell and keep it as a little piece of art.

Hope you like it and if you haven't tried it yet - you must try sewing on to card - it's so much fun !

Health Kick Monday is here !

OK, so I have been thinking for a while now about eating healthier and getting fit!

I have always dabbled in the two, not normally for very long, or at the same time, but have finally realised I need to.

I had a melt down the other day and didn't like ANY of my clothes, nothing fitted nicely, I'm feeling sluggish and tired and do most definitely not get enough fruit and veg in my life.

So, I have decided to make a change ! I hope you don't mind me writing about it - maybe it will help if you all know?! Keep me on track....and feel free to tell me off if I fail !

So.... I will be sharing any tips or advice that I have along the way and my first one today is to make your water pretty or interesting or fun!!

We all know we are supposed to drink 2 litres of water a day ! Some days I drink none....so I decided to take this cute little glass water bottle and pop a gorgeous paper straw in it !

I am happy to keep this with me throughout the day and sip on it - I even measured the amount of water it takes - 1/4 of a litre, so I need to be working up to 8 bottles a day ! Woah. I think I'll start with 4 !

Iced Jems has an amazing selection of paper straws !! Go get some x

I also started my day off with a mug of hot water & lemon ! (that's one less bottle right?!)

So, if anyone else has any tips for someone starting out on a health kick, I would love to hear them ?

Eeek, off to weigh myself and take measurements !

Have a lovely Monday x

Father's Day cupcakes

I thought I'd share these little cupcakes I made this morning for my Dad!

He is a huge banana fan so I added half a mashed one to the cake mix!

I was only making about 6 so I used 1 egg and the same measure of self raising flour, caster sugar and unsalted butter. I added a teaspoon of vanilla!

You can get the cute little cup and saucer cases from Iced Jems

I added a little green food colouring to the buttercream and topped of with a rice paper hibs logo! ( his fave football team)

What have you made for the Dads in your lives? :)

We're off to an air museum, hopefully they'll have a cafe for tea and cake?! X

Happy Father's Day x

Toffee & Cream Macarons

I wanted to share this yummy recipe for my Toffee & Cream macarons !

Using my instructions here to make your macarons, colour them with yellow food colouring.

For the filling I used a combination of shop bought toffee sauce and whipped up Elmlea !

They go soggy quite quickly from the cream however, so just fill them when you are ready to devour them !

Enjoy ! x

Washi Week - Thursday

Today - mini bunting !! This is so cute ! I love it. You could attach it to stripy paper straws and add to a lovely celebration cake ! Or add it to homemade cards...

Wrap the washi tape over the wool / string and cut in to a triangle or cut like the flags.

Washi Week - Wednesday

Today it's cocktail sticks ! These are so versatile and easy to do ! The first one is a double side piece cut in to a heart and would make a cute cupcake topper !

Then a selection of little flags ! These are just so cute and again would make lovely cupcake toppers, could double as price tags or be used however you can imagine !

I hope you like x

Washi Week - Tuesday

Today is a bit of a strange one, but I kinda like it.... have you ever washi taped a cotton bud?

I'm not sure you would for personal use, but I love the idea of giving these as part of a pampering gift !

You could do a nice little jar full of treats and include some of these for a pretty little extra special touch !

Washi Week - Monday

I am naming this week, Washi Week. Just because I love it.  And there are SO many awesome things you can do with it....

So today....why not take that old scabby pencil or buy a whole bunch of cheap ones and give them a Washi makeover !

I did this one buy using two long pieces, top to bottom. I started by cutting a straight edge and sticking it in place at the bottom, then work your way up, sticking it down, and cut it off at the top.
Then it wasn't wide enough so I had to cut a 2nd slimmer piece and tried to match the design up !

OOh so pretty now ! Enjoy & make sure you share any you make!! x

Little Things - Charity Shop Bargain

Who else loves charity shop shopping ? I will always have a little browse when I am in town, you can find such treasure in them !

LIKE THESE. I went in to my local one yesterday, just on a whim and was SO chuffed to find all these gorgeous baskets ! They came to a grand total of £4 for ALL OF THEM ! I am so pleased with them.

So, have a little look in yours if you are out and about and see what you can find !!

They will all come in really handy for an up and coming craft fair I will be doing, one I will then use for fruit picking when I go to pick your own strawberries, the big dark one I might line with that gorgeous material and keep wool in and the little square one, well some sort of crafty bits I'm sure !
